The Hanson Memorial High School Administration is pleased to announce that Mrs. Connie Daigle has been hired as the new Principal for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. Mrs. Daigle relocated to Franklin from Thibodaux two years ago. She is a church member and Eucharistic minister at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin.
Mrs. Daigle is a seasoned Teacher and Administrator with over 32 years of experience. Prior to teaching she oversaw the accounting practices for 13 businesses under one umbrella. Mrs. Daigle and her husband live in the Garden City area. They have 6 children and 7 grandchildren, with the youngest grandchild being 1 month old.
Mrs. Daigle received her Master’s of Library and Information Science from LSU in 2004. Prior to that, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. During her career, she was chosen as the Thibodaux Elementary Teacher of the Year and the Lafourche Parish Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Daigle was the 1st individual to achieve National Board Certification as a Media Specialist in the tri-parish area (St. Mary, Terrebonne and Lafourche Parish). She is a successful grant writer, securing funds to support many of the programs she oversaw.
Mrs. Daigle brings a different level of expertise with skills and attributes that will help fulfill her new role. Her list of achievements include areas such as: Senior Project Coordinator for Thibodaux High; Working with the LPSD grant writer and LPSD IT Director to get technology in all classrooms and computer labs at THS; created and facilitated S.T.A.R. Club (a club for above-average learners with low socio-economic demographics) to name a few. She currently serves as a test administrator for ACT, PSAT, LEAP and E2020.
Her professional memberships include: Lafourche Parish Association of School Libraries, Louisiana Library Association, Who’s Who Among Teachers, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Phi Kappa Phi and Gamma Beta Phi.
“We are very happy to have Mrs. Connie Daigle join the Administrative team as Principal of Hanson Memorial High School. She brings years of experience that will offer strong leadership for our school. Mrs. Daigle has a strong Catholic faith which will help guide her in overseeing the operations at Hanson,” states Father Joel Faulk, Pastor.
Mrs. Daigle states, “I have great admiration and respect for Mother Teresa who once said, “I used to believe that prayer changes things, but now I believe that prayer changes us, and we change things”. We have to work actively together at changing our world for Christ.”
There will be a Meet and Greet for HMS parents and families to meet Mrs. Connie Daigle on March 17th at 6:00pm in the Billy Gene Talbot Gymnasium at Hanson Memorial High School.
