The Diocese of Lafayette has both diocesan and religious order priests ministering to the faithful. Our diocesan priests have committed their lives to serve the people of the Diocese of Lafayette in our parishes, schools and other Catholic institutions recognized by the Church. Religious Order priests working in the Diocese may also minister at these parishes, schools and other institutions.

Deacons serve in a variety of ministries: as parish ministers, prison ministry, hospital ministry, diocesan administration and services. Most deacons are assigned to their home parish but could be assigned according to the needs of the diocese. Deacons minister under the authority of the Bishop of the diocese and are assigned to meet the needs of the diocese.
Prayer for Priests
Eternal Father, we lift up to You these and all the priests of the world. Sanctify them. Heal and guide them.
Mold them into the likeness of Your Son, Jesus, the Eternal High Priest. May their lives be pleasing to You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
