Total Catholics: 4463On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Feast of the Guardian Angels, the Diocese of Lafayette will hold its annual “Blue Mass” at 12:05 pm. in Cathedral Hall at Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist, 515 Cathedral Street in Lafayette. The Blue Mass is designed to express gratitude, show our appreciation and pray for all first responders in our community: Police Officers, Sheriff’s Deputies, State Troopers, Fire Fighters and Emergency Medical Personnel.
We owe so much to these essential groups who provide such outstanding service in our community. The Mass offers us an opportunity to thank them and also pray for their safety in the tasks they perform. Bishop Deshotel will celebrate the Mass and says he believes it will help to form a closer bond between first responders and the people they serve. All first responders are extended a heartfelt welcome to attend.
