Church parishes throughout the Diocese serve the poor, hungry and disadvantaged through parish-based social service centers. From Jeanerette to Mamou, and from Crowley to Breaux Bridge, soup kitchens, diners, food pantries, counseling services and healthcare programs are all being housed, supplied and staffed through caring parishioners and volunteers. Initially established with proceeds from the Centennial Campaign, the Matthew 25 Endowment serves as a perpetual source of funding assistance for these critically important agencies and programs.
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me. Matthew 25: 35-36
