Rachel’s Vineyard Retreats
A Rachel's Vineyard weekend retreat is an opportunity for any man, woman, couple, grandparent, sibling, or anyone who struggles with the emotional or spiritual pain of abortion. This weekend retreat provides participants the opportunity and space to enter the grieving process, identify effects the abortion has had and release deep feelings of anger, shame, and guilt that frequently accompany an abortion experience. This unique retreat process is designed specifically to help retreatants experience the gentleness, mercy
and compassion of Jesus as they walk the journey from pain to forgiveness.
Participants re-connect on a spiritual level with the children who have been aborted and give them honor and dignity through many special exercises as well as in a memorial service. Those who journey through their grief
allow God to transform their experience into one that brings hope, liberation and peace.
The retreat begins on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and concludes on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
Retreats are scheduled for the following dates in 2022:
April 22-23, 2022 (Divine Mercy Weekend)
September 30-October 2, 2022 (Respect Life Weekend)

“When I picked up a church bulletin and saw an ad for Project Rachel/Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat for healing after abortion, for the very first time I realized I could pray and reach out to God for forgiveness for my abortion. It gave me hope I didn’t have before. I couldn’t even look at myself in the mirror, and now after going through this program I know that God does forgive me and I can now forgive myself and others involved. I am so grateful to the pastor and bulletin editor for including it in their bulletin and for those who have walked me through the process.”
Project Joseph (for men suffering after an abortion) is coming to the Diocese of Lafayette.
In honor of the year of St. Joseph, the Office of Pro-Life Apostolate has begun planning the Diocese of Lafayette’s first Project Joseph Retreat exclusively for men. This ministry offers men the opportunity to heal after an abortion. Studies have shown that women are not the only ones who suffer from the detrimental effects of abortion. Men are deeply affected as well, although many remain in denial and want to bury the feelings. Some may have initially felt relief after their partner’s abortion but now experience regret and remorse. If you or someone you know would like to attend a Project Joseph Retreat, please call 337-261-5598.
