Violence hits all communities, incomes and age groups, and it also tests our faith. We have a responsibility to respond. Acadiana has had its share of violence, domestic abuse, serial killings, stabbings, and the list goes on.
Join Bishop Deshotel, the Office of Justice & Peace, and Marriage & Family Life on Saturday, May 25, 2024 for a Survivors of Violence Mass. This special Mass will be held at Immaculata Center, 1408 Carmel Drive, Lafayette at 10:00am. Please register your loved one below so that their name can be placed on a candle. Names can also be taken at the door and placed on a candle which will be displayed near the altar. Please arrive by 9:45am in order to register your loved ones name if they are not pre-registered.
We encourage you to bring a table top photo of your loved one that died by violence so that it can be displayed near the candles during the Mass. At the conclusion of the Mass, you will be invited to take the candle and photo home.
A reception will be held after Mass
